Cash Cash!

Thanks to one of OP's music scouts, Zach, we got a hold of Cash Cash's hott new single Party in Your Bedroom, and it's the perfect song for a Friday here at AMP'd!

Jennifer's Body (Music from the Motion Picture)

The first type of album to be cut in a recession is the soundtrack. Movie soundtracks especially! They don't typically sell well, but once in a while something amazing comes along. I will bet that the Jennifer's Body soundtrack opens top 5 on the Billboard chart. Any takers?

As the first soundtrack released by label Fueled By Ramen, Jennifer's Body will feature new songs by Dashboard Confessional, Panic at the Disco, Haley Williams of Paramore and Cobra Starship. All this fueled with an album cover of Megan Fox in a short skirt, makes me pretty confident in my bet.

The soundtrack is out today! The Movie is out 9/18.

VersaEmerge!

This video by a couple of the members of VersaEmerge, singing The Authors is raw and brilliant. It's getting us pretty AMP'd (get it?) to have them on the OP Presents tour this fall!

Ingrid Michaelson!

I think it's time we show the ladies some love on AMP'd.

Ingrid Michaelson is widely known for her 2008 hit single The Way I Am, which was all over the radio. She's back with a laid back song, Maybe, off her upcoming album (releasing 8/25/09) that's sure to keep Ingrid on the radio.

Happy Friday

A Rocket to the Moon!

Once I found out A Rocket to the Moon was going on our OP Presents tour this fall, I immediately checked them out, and already If Only They Knew has been added to my "On the Go" IPod playlist. So, maybe you should go add it to yours too? Do it.......Do it.

All Time Low!

Remember wayyy back to 1999? When a movie ticket only cost like 8 bucks? It was back in those days, a small band named Blink 182 bursted onto the scene to sell 15 million copies of their album Enema of the State, and performed on the Video Music Awards to an audience of millions. Blink really introduced "Punk" music to commercial America. Thanks to them, bands like Boys Like Girls and Cobra Starship get to participate on The OP Presents tour this fall (shameless plus).

Fast forward a decade, and let me introduce you to All Time Low. While they may not be playing the VMA's, their taking a big first step in getting there!

All Time Low will be playing in MTVU's upcoming VMA tour. The tour will visit 5 Six Flag amusement parks across the country.

One could say their in for a roller coaster ride. (Wow, I'm not funny)

Sliimy!

In 2009, an endorsement from Perez Hilton is like winning the lottery. A record deal from Perez? Well, that's like hitting the power ball. Sliimy can thank the pink hair gossip columnist for coming to our attention here at OP. His acoustic and innovative cover of Britney Spear's Womanizer is great. Check out his MySpace for that one, but below is the video for Trust Me ... Check it out!

The Features!

Kings of Leon can do no wrong these days, especially since they signed The Feature's to their label. The new video for Lions is great, and the song is even better. For real, check this out.

The Script!

Prepare for an invasion! It may not be Beatlemania, but The Script has all the right ingredients for a Billboard chart takeover. They've got the sound, the look, and most importantly these days, they've got gossip! Good thing for gossip though, because that's how we found out about these guys. Danny O'Donoghue was seen hanging with 90210's Anna Lynne McCord. She's an avid OP fan, and was in our last Ad campaign, so we keep tabs on her! The Script will have their music featured on an upcoming episode of 90210, and with 8.5 million YouTube hits for The Man Who Can't be Moved, I seem to be late on this train.

New Paramore!

Paramore's new video for Ignorance has just hit the web! see it here on AMP'd!

Passion Pit!

Passion Pit has the vibe of Imogen Heap and Evanescence, a.k.a the bands with songs you can never get out of your head, but still listen too. Their song, To Kingdom Come has been in my head all morning, and I'm not fighting it.

Their touring now overseas, but will be coming to the states at the end of August. Their playing summer stage in Central Park, may have to check it out!

Boys Like Girls and Ashley Tisdale!?!?

I don't know what's hotter here. The song, or Ashley Tisdale? What do you think?

I think it's safe to say that Cobra Starship officially has the song of the summer. They join the ranks of McCartney's Live and Let Die, Springsteen's Dancing in the Dark, Rihanna's Umbrella and Sisqo's (remember him? No?) Thong Song.

Congrats to Gabe and the guys!

See where their touring and check out the video for Good Girls Go Bad

OP and Coming Vol. 1

Matt Hartke seems to have that "It" factor that all the suits in Hollywood love to refer to. He came into our offices to perform for us, and his voice live sounds IDENTICAL, no joke, IDENTICAL, to the studio recording.

His song, Angel Wings, has over half a million plays on MySpace and he's playing Webster Hall in NYC on Aug 27th with Five Times August.

He's got that Jason Mraz/ Jack Johnson swagger, and we definitely think he's a star on the rise. Can't wait to see where he gets signed.

Harlem Shakes!

Purely by accident, this band's single stumbled across my desk on a compilation CD, and I think it's an instant classic. The Harlem Shakes sound like the love child of Bob Dylan and The All American Rejects. These guys are fresh out of college and just released their first full length CD, Technicolor Health (http://bit.ly/tqWMl <----buy it here for $7!)

I have a feeling their single, Sunlight will be popping up on radio soon!
